I Wouldn’t Want Anybody to Know: Native English Teaching in Japan by Eva P. Bueno & Terry Caesar

This coffee table book is a collection of essays from many “Native English Teachers” living and working in Japan.

The book contains accounts of English Teaching from both the University and Language (Ekaiwa or English Conversation) School levels. For the most part, the stories are honest and frank about the struggles with teaching English in Japan.I trust that you will find yourself (much as I did) identifying with many of the dilemas the writers faced as well as gaining some insight into why things happen the way they do! There were many times while reading this book on the train that I openly laughed out loud, much to the chagrin of the sleeping passengers beside me.
